Services
The White House is an assisted care living facility located across the street
from Knollwood Manor. There are 10 large private bedrooms each with an adjoining
handicap-accessible bathroom, a large double closet, and a linen closet in the
bathroom. Each room is provided with a microwave and refrigerator for snacks. Of
course, delicious, home-cooked meals are provided in The White House dining
room.
There is also an independent living apartment featuring a full kitchen, two
bedrooms and two full baths with handicap accessibility.
A Bit of History
The White House had been the home of Bonnie and Dennis White when purchased
by Tri-Age Adventures, Inc. in October, 2002. It is believed that the home
was built in the late 1940s or early 1950s. The home contained a nice warmth and
charm, and to maintain this warmth and charm became a priority during the
renovating process to becoming an Assisted Living facility.
The original living room/dining room of the house was converted into a large
dining room complete with fireplace and the original dining room suite that
belonged to Mrs. Bonnie White. With additional tables and Queen Ann chairs
added, the dining room now seats 20 people. Residents are able to dine with a
hilltop view and, in the winter, a warm, cozy fire in the white marble
fireplace.
Adding some new, modern lighting to the den was all that was needed to help showcase this beautiful room with its warm wood-paneled walls, beamed ceiling and a large rock fireplace. Residents enjoy using this room for games, private visits with family and friends, or just a quiet retreat.
Another enjoyable area in the old house is the sun porch. It provides a gathering place for the residents and their friends. The room features all glass on two walls, allowing the feeling of the outdoors to come indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
A new addition to the original home is the Dome Room and gathering area. One would probably not notice that it is new construction because of the continuous flow of the warm, wood floors throughout the facility. The Dome Room and gathering area is charming because of its open space and lots of natural light coming from both the dome and large windows. One also enjoys the spectacular hilltop view from this area.
Residents can enjoy the outdoors on the
sun porch of the White House.
Medical Services

The nurse will also contact our offices as needed to make sure the medications are kept filled. In addition, the nurse will monitor the resident's medical condition.
The laundry is conveniently located next to the residents' rooms allowing them the opportunity to do their own laundry. The staff is available to assist them, or the staff can do the laundry for the resident.
Rooms are individually decorated to each resident's tastes using their own furniture. Furniture can be provided if needed.
Private bathrooms adjoin each bedroom. Bathrooms are handicap accessible with walk-in ceramic showers.
